Gadwal Sarees

Gadwal sarees (Kupadam sarees) are produced in Gadwal, a small town in Andra Pradesh. The fabric of the silk borders is composed of tussar or mulberry silk. There is a complicated joinery involved and this gives the saree its handwoven charm.
